Welcome to South Texas Blonde! My name is Amber, and I am the south Texas born and raised blonde behind the blog. I am originally from Victoria, TX a small town in south Texas near the Gulf of Mexico. Growing up in a small town I always dreamed of living in a big city. So, when I was 18 I made my first move to College Station, TX, not exactly the big city, but for me it was a start. After a couple of years there I decided it was time to make another move. This time to San Marcos, TX where I attended Texas State University.

After getting my bachelor’s degree I started to contemplate what to do next. Still knowing I wanted something bigger and better I decided to pick up and move to Chicago, IL. While in Chicago I attended graduate school and earned my master’s degree. I absolutely loved living in Chicago, the people, the lifestyle, and yes even the snow. It was the big city life I had always dreamed of. However, thinking about the future I knew I could not have the lifestyle I desired and still live in the heart of the city.

After four years in Chicago I moved back to Texas and settled in Dallas. Ever since moving to Dallas life has been a whirlwind. About a year after moving to Dallas I got engaged and then got married the following April. Believing things would slow down after that was a true misconception.

It is with great excitement and a heavy heart I can finally share that my husband and I are starting over yet again and writing the next chapter in our lives. We have decided to take on a whole new life endeavor and move back to the small South Texas Town I grew up in. Through all of my moves the main parts of me have stayed the same. I love cooking, all things Christmas, dancing, spending time with my friends and family, working out, cats, peonies, champagne and wine! This blog is all about sharing my transition into a new lifestyle, things I learn along the way, as well as some of my passions, some of which I have listed above, and others which you will get to know in future posts.
